A COPIER MACHINE is a piece of equipment with the ability to photocopy, send out faxes, print and scan documents. While most copiers do function similarly, each type and model offers different features. Some are limited on the amount of workload they can deliver. There are various types of copier machines. Some of the common types include black & white copiers, color copiers, multifunctional copiers, and desktop copiers.
Considered as the most traditional type of copying machine, the black & white copier only provides a monochromatic output. It means this particular machine could only photocopy in black and white. Since it can only copy in extreme neutral shades, this is ideal to use when copying all-text documents or those with only black and white graphics. This is also known as the mono copiers.
Contrary to the black and white copier, the color copier comes into the picture as it tried to fill a gap in the market. Thus, this compensates for what the previous monochrome-output printer could not do since this type of copier can also photocopy in full color allowing both texts and colored images to be photocopied as they appear in the original copies.
Commonly used inside the office, the multifunctional copiers are equipped with various features allowing this type of machine to be present in most offices as it can fax, print, and scan aside from its main function, which is to photocopy.
Lastly, a kind of copying machine similar to the multifunctional copiers, is the desktop copiers. However, its printing size is fitted mainly for A4-size papers. This type of machine is relatively smaller than the other copiers, hence, the name ‘desktop copier.’
Each copier type is designed to deliver a printing job ideal for low and high volume workload, depending on the amount and speed at which they could produce copies or print documents. Each type of copier has its own advantages and disadvantages and it is crucial for the users to know which copier machine/s fit their needs. Luckily, copier services now lease copier machines to their customers.
While it is essential to be familiar with the types of copier you need, it is also imperative that you, as the customers, display proper maintenance and care for the machines. In this way, you protect both the company’s investment and reputation.
